Kiki on the River

A Greek-island fantasy on the Miami River, a long dock, a seafood tower and a champagne-soaked Sunday that runs late. Pure celebration.

The venue

Kiki on the River

Kiki on the River is a Greek-island fantasy on the banks of the Miami River, a long, lantern-lit dock and terrace that feels transported from Mykonos. White-and-blue tables, billowing drapery and a party spirit have made it one of the city’s most photographed and most festive waterfront venues, where lunch or dinner regularly turns into a celebration.

The kitchen is Greek and Mediterranean, built around mezze, whole fish and towering seafood platters made for sharing, with magnums of champagne and a soundtrack that builds through the meal. The signature is the long, champagne-soaked Sunday, which runs late and loud, but any visit has a sense of occasion. Yachts dock alongside, adding to the on-the-water glamour.

Kiki is ideal for groups and celebrations, birthdays, parties and anyone who wants their meal to become an event. It is high-energy and theatrical rather than quiet, so it is best approached in that spirit. Sunday brunch is the headline and books out well ahead, so reserve early and arrive ready to stay a while.

Sundays are legendary, but evenings are special too. Kiki sits on the Miami River, about an eighteen-minute drive from the residence, a worthwhile trip from South Beach for the city’s most celebratory waterfront table.
